This July, Patagonia Chocolates is officially marking a major milestone - our 21st anniversary in the beautiful Whakatipu Basin.
Since we first opened our doors in Arrowtown back in 2005, we have grown from a local hidden gem into a must-visit destination for chocolate lovers, locals, and tourists alike. While our menu has evolved, our dedication to small-batch, traditional artisan methods has never wavered.
To celebrate this milestone, we have created a limited-edition Anniversary Collection, bringing together our original classic flavours with a few modern, contemporary twists.
Unveiling the Anniversary Collection
Crafted with premium ingredients and inspired by our time-honoured recipes, this special collection is our way of saying thank you for 21 years of incredible support. Here is a look at what we've been tempering in the kitchen:
Anniversary Selection Chocolate Medley Jar: Featuring our classic white chocolate freeze-dried raspberries, now joined by two brand-new creations: dark chocolate and milk chocolate-coated raspberries.
Anniversary Selection Chocolate Gift Box: We have reimagined one of our original gift boxes to showcase four chocolate bars with our newest flavors: Gold Chocolate & Macadamia with Hokey Pokey, Milk Chocolate & Pistachio, White Chocolate & Cookies, and Dark Chocolate & Raspberries.
Anniversary Selection Bonbons & Truffles: A curated, hand-selected mix of classic and modern profiles, including Strawberry & Pistachio, Mango & Sesame, Apricot & Macadamia, Coffee, Orange & Cinnamon, and Hazelnut.
A Look Back to Where It All Began
To kick off the birthday festivities, our co-founders Alex and Lorena Gimenez stepped right back to where it all started. They spent Wednesday behind the counter at our Arrowtown store, serving local customers just as they did 21 years ago.
We also hosted a hands-on chocolate-making experience inside the Chocolate Room at our Rees Street store for a group of our key supporters. From filling traditional Alfajores with rich Dulce de leche to hand-decorating personalised chocolate bars and crafting artisan rama bars, it was a day filled with laughter, history, and plenty of chocolate.

"While some flavours have changed and our menu has grown over the years, our commitment to small-batch, artisan methods has never wavered. Sharing this milestone in the kitchen with some of our closest supporters was the perfect way to look back on how far we’ve come."
How to Get Your Hands on the Collection
The limited-edition Anniversary Collection will be available throughout the month of July or until stocks last. You can find these special treats across all four of our stores, located in Queenstown, Arrowtown, Wanaka, and Queenstown Airport.
